Metaxa 12 Stars’ “Don’t Drink It, Explore It” is a commercial snippet from a 6-minute internal presentation video commissioned by Rémy Cointreau UK. When they got in touch with Three Motion we took their ideas on board and put a plan together.
The client wanted a film which would be presented by four of the company’s managers. Their aim was to give the key facts about Metaxa 12 Stars’ growth on the UK’s alcoholic beverages market. They gave an insight into how their “Don’t Drink It, Explore It” campaign has achieved impressive results.
It was important to the client that we keep consistency in terms of the look and feel of the video. They were keen on recreating the black and white, studio-based look of the campaign’s main advert. Therefore, filming in a studio with an infinite scoop was key to the production of the project. We found a great location, based in London which ticked all the boxes.
In the post-production stage, I used a mix of wide and mid-close angles of each speaker to build the narrative using their best-delivered lines. To keep the attention of the viewers, I added a slight dolly-tracking zoom in effect to each clip. As a result, the story flowed much better visually. As far as the colour grading is concerned, I created a contrasted black and white look which made the film look stylish and modern.
To finish off the 6-minute film, the client was keen on recreating Mike Horn’s hero advert of the campaign. Rémy Cointreau’s managers delivered the messages incredibly well. Therefore, the commercial snippet was the perfect way to end the video.
The film was presented at the annual Rémy Cointreau conference in Singapore which was attended by more than 175 guests.
